Episode Recap

After King Toot blathers on about his success as a hockey coach, Moe is both sad and frustrated at not having a real career. Homer returns home with Lisa, who has won the sports trophy. Marge asks Homer to take Bart to his first minor hockey game. Homer leaves, but not before making some rude comments. Moe, as the coach of Bart's team, lectures his players before the game.

Despite the efforts, Moe's team bites the dust. On his way back, he sees Nelson teasing Martin. Impressed, Moe offers Nelson to join the hockey team. When Nelson refuses, Moe drops a note and leaves.

To Moe's surprise, Nelson appears as the game begins. Nelson defeats opponents - allowing Bart to score easily. Well, the team wins, but because Nelson doesn't have his skates, the results are unacceptable. Impressed by Nelson's antics, Moe takes Nelson to the Top Goon Academy to improve his violent skills so they can be used in the game. He is taught that he has to keep the base (Bart) in all situations. After graduation, Nelson earns the title of Top Goon.

Moe's team crushes all the teams in the tournament. However, just before the finale, Nelson shoots Bart for making fun of Moe. Since Bart can no longer participate, Mad Moe calls for Nelson's loss.

Moe soon realizes that scolding and giving up on Nelson was a terrible mistake because he was a child. He rushes to find her. Meanwhile, Nelson found friendship with bad people. Nelson's new boss gives him an iron rod to beat a masked kidnapper. However, Moe arrives just in time to stop Nelson from entering the underworld. When the cloth is removed, Moe is surprised to find it is King Toot. Despite his problems with King Toot, Moe urges Nelson to let him go—showing a true gesture of a good man.

Moe and Nelson break up and decide to part ways violently. Moe breaks the window of King Toot's shop to retrieve the Hockey Trophy and presents it to Nelson.

Bart is at the doctor for mobility training for his injured arm. Homer is disappointed to learn that Bart will be there for months until he fully recovers.

  Episode Review

Despite being a simple product, we have to praise the script for its freshness in nature. The Simpsons proves with its latest episodes that the storyline is far from exhausted. Although not very funny, there are moments to like. With the season half over, it's safe to say that we're not a little bit excited to see what's in store.
